Ingredients
1 15 Ounce Can Chickpeas, rinsed, drained, patted dry
1/3 cup(s) Chopped Fresh Parsley
4 Garlic Cloves, minced
2 Medium Shallots
2 tbsp(s) Raw Sesame Seeds
1 1/2 tsp(s) Cumin
1/4 tsp(s) Sea Salt
1/4 tsp(s) Black Pepper
Pinch of Cardamom (optional)
Pinch of Coriander (optional)
4 tbsp(s) All-Purpose Flour
4 tbsp(s) Avocado Oil For Cooking
Panko Bread Crumbs for Coating (optional)
Garlic Dill Sauce for Serving
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Drain and rinse the chickpeas, then pat them dry with a paper towel.
3. In a food processor or blender, combine the chickpeas, parsley, garlic, shallots, sesame seeds, cumin, sea salt, black pepper, cardamom, and coriander. Process until the mixture is well combined and slightly chunky.
4. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the flour.
5. Heat the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
6. Using wet hands, shape the chickpea mixture into small patties, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick.
7. Place the patties in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
8. If using, coat the patties in Panko bread crumbs.
9. Serve the falafel with garlic dill sauce.
