Ingredients

1 lb(s) lean ground beef
1 cup(s) white rice
1 onion
2 garlic
2 cup(s) beef broth
1 cup(s) sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup(s) sour cream
1/2 cup(s) milk
1/2 tsp(s) paprika
1/2 tsp(s) salt
1/4 tsp(s) black pepper
1 tbsp(s) olive oil
1/2 cup(s) breadcrumbs

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
3. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until it's browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
4. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the onion is translucent.
5. Stir in the white rice, beef broth, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.
6. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the sour cream and 1/2 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese.
7. Transfer the beef and rice mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish.
8. In a small bowl, combine the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and the breadcrumbs.
9. Sprinkle the cheddar-breadcrumb mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
10. Bake the casserole for 20-25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
11. Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
12. Serve the Cheddar-Crusted Beef and Rice Casserole hot and enjoy!
