6 oz(s) 2 Cans of Tomato Paste
28 oz(s) Crushed Tomatoes
1 1/2 tbsp(s) Basil Leaves
1 tsp(s) Italian Seasoning
3/4 lb(s) Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
3/4 cup(s) Grated Parmesan Cheese
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes, making sure to crumble the beef as it cooks.
3. Add the crushed garlic cloves and diced onion to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the onion is translucent.
4. Stir in the two cans of tomato paste, the crushed tomatoes, the tomato sauce, and the water. Season with the basil leaves, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper to taste.
5. Simmer the sauce for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld.
6. In a small bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, the egg, and 2 tablespoons of the parsley.
7. Spread a small amount of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
8. Layer 4 lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta cheese mixture, and 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.
9. Repeat the layers of noodles, ricotta cheese, and cheeses.
10. Top with the remaining 4 lasagna noodles and the remaining meat sauce.
11. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
12. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
13. Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
14. Garnish with the remaining 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley.
